One of the most iconic American cars of the 1950s, a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz, is expected to command significant attention as its auction concludes today. With only 1,800 units produced for the model year, this particular Cadillac Eldorado stands out for its rare triple white configuration, including an Olympic White exterior, a white convertible top, and matching white upholstery. This example underwent an extensive multi-year refurbishment completed in 2024, making it a pristine specimen of mid-century luxury and design.

The restoration process included meticulous attention to detail. The body was stripped and refinished with BASF Glasurit paint in its factory-original Olympic White, while the chrome parts were replated by specialists in Alabama. Four replacement floor panels were welded in, and new glass, weatherstripping, and lamps were installed. Exterior highlights include hooded headlights, tail fins, and replated gold-anodized “Eldorado” and “Biarritz” script badges.

The interior reflects Cadillac’s commitment to opulence, featuring reupholstered white leather seats, a refurbished six-way power-adjustable front seat, and black and chrome accents. Modernized conveniences include rebuilt power window motors, refurbished speakers and an AM radio, and rechromed accents throughout. Even the smallest details, such as the ashtrays and cigarette lighters, were restored to factory condition.

Under the hood, the 365ci V8 engine—originally rated at 325 horsepower—was overhauled with stainless-steel valve seats, rebuilt Carter four-barrel carburetors, and a refurbished “batwing” air filter. The engine bay now boasts an array of new components, from a recored radiator to a new dual exhaust system with heat insulation wraps. The drivetrain includes a Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission, delivering a seamless ride typical of the Cadillac legacy.

Offered with extensive refurbishment records, photos, and a clean North Carolina title, this Eldorado represents the pinnacle of 1950s American automotive luxury. For collectors, its rarity, extensive restoration, and timeless design make it a dream addition to any classic car portfolio. As the auction nears its end, this piece of American automotive history is poised to garner fierce competition among bidders.
