Few names resonate in the Colorado automotive world like Jay Cimino, and this October, three of his prized 1957 Chevrolets will cross the block at no reserve. Each one represents a different expression of the Tri-Five era—from ultra-rare coachbuilt exclusivity to timeless open-air cruising—all part of Cimino’s carefully preserved private collection.
1957 Chevrolet El Morocco (Lot 61)

The undeniable star of the group is the 1957 Chevrolet El Morocco, one of the most elusive American cars ever built. Conceived by Canadian entrepreneur Reuben Allender to evoke the style of a Cadillac Eldorado, only 56 El Moroccos were produced across two years, and just six are known to exist today—including this example.
Cimino acquired the car after a chance meeting with collector Sam Pack in Detroit in 2019, drawn by its handcrafted details and unmistakable elegance. Each El Morocco featured bespoke trim and Cadillac-inspired touches over standard Chevrolet bodies, making them instant collector’s items even in their day. This car has been stored in a climate-controlled facility and remains one of the crown jewels of the Cimino Collection. It will be collected from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe (Lot 48)

For purists, the Bel Air Sport Coupe captures the essence of 1950s luxury and performance. Finished in Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige, this original, unrestored example features its factory 283 V8, Powerglide automatic transmission, and rare options like power steering, power brakes, and factory air conditioning. Originally purchased at Luby Chevrolet in Colorado, the car remains a time capsule of midcentury motoring, showing the benefits of decades in Colorado’s dry climate.
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible (Lot 59)

Finally, the Bel Air Convertible combines vintage appeal with tasteful modernization. Originally black, Cimino commissioned a full professional repaint in brilliant white paired with a red and silver interior. Under the hood sits a crate 350 V8 with Ram Jet PFI, disc brakes on all four wheels, and air conditioning, blending vintage style with modern drivability. With its Continental kit, power steering, and upgraded cooling, it’s a car built to be enjoyed as much as admired.
All three Chevrolets have been maintained in museum-like storage and will require routine recommissioning before road use.
