The 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, introduced in 1959, swiftly became a dominant force on race tracks across Europe and America. This model, characterized by its short wheelbase and aerodynamic bodywork, was engineered for both racing prowess and grand touring comfort. The car’s 3.0-liter V-12 engine, designed by Colombo, delivers approximately 240 horsepower and was the first Ferrari road car to feature disc brakes as standard.

The specific model being auctioned, chassis No. 2067 GT, holds a distinguished history. Originally painted in Grigio with a black Connolly leather interior, it was sold new to Franco Caimi in 1960 for 5.5 million Italian lire. Over the decades, the car underwent several transformations, including a rebody by Carrozzeria Sports Cars in 1971 and another by Carrozzeria Allegretti commissioned by British collector Rob Lamplough.

In 2009, a Belgian owner meticulously restored the car to its factory steel-body specification with the help of Carrozzeria Autosport of Bachelli & Villa in Modena. This restoration, which returned the vehicle to its original condition, was extensively documented and resulted in the car receiving the prestigious “Red Book” certification from Ferrari Classiche in 2013.

The interior of the vehicle, originally featuring black Connolly leather, now boasts red upholstery and racing harnesses, adding to its distinctive charm. The restoration ensured that the car retained its matching-numbers chassis and engine, further enhancing its value and appeal to collectors.
