A beautifully restored 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport, one of just 3,354 built that year with the high-performance GS package, is now being offered for sale in Arizona, representing a rare intersection of 1960s muscle and luxury.

Finished in factory-correct Flame Red with a black vinyl top, the Riviera GS stands out with its concealed headlights, stylized “R” hood ornament, and Gran Sport badging. Refurbished under previous ownership and updated mechanically in recent years, the car has seen roughly 1,000 miles added since 2018 and is offered with a clean title, service documentation, and rare factory equipment.

Under the hood, the 425-cubic-inch Nailhead V8 remains the centerpiece, topped with dual four-barrel carburetors and factory-rated at 360 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The car retains its original Super Turbine 400 three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential, with recent maintenance including fluid flushes and resealing of the transmission pan.

The black vinyl bucket seat interior is trimmed with woodgrain accents and factory features including power side and vent windows, a power-adjustable driver seat, tilt steering column, cruise control, air conditioning, and an AM/FM radio. A period-correct rear speaker and rear defroster complete the upscale package.

Originally delivered in April 1965, this Riviera was assembled in Flint, Michigan. A 2022 service addressed the speedometer gear housing, ignition switch, and power steering hoses, while more recent 2024 work included fresh fluids and a new thermostat.

Still riding on 15-inch Rally wheels and wrapped in Nexen white-line tires, this Gran Sport is poised for concours-level showings or confident weekend cruising. Offered on dealer consignment, it’s a chance to own a rare and refined example of Buick’s golden-era muscle luxury.
