A once-in-a-lifetime automotive offering has surfaced in Miami: a 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C, chassis CSX3095, personally commissioned by Carroll Shelby and built to exacting original specifications, is now listed for sale with just 4.4 original miles on the odometer.

Constructed in 2009 from one of the last 43 unfinished Cobra chassis discovered in Shelby’s Gardena, California facility, CSX3095 represents a direct continuation of the famed CSX3000 series. Originally designed for FIA competition, the 427 S/C—or “Semi-Competition”—model was built around Ford’s NASCAR-derived 427 cubic inch side-oiler V8, producing brutal power in a lightweight chassis that weighed just over 2,300 pounds.
Shelby had planned to build 100 of these cars to meet homologation requirements for the 1966 racing season. But those plans were derailed when Henry Ford II tapped him to lead the Ford GT program against Ferrari at Le Mans, marking the temporary end of Cobra production after just 53 S/C units.

CSX3095, however, was built decades later under Shelby’s supervision and was originally delivered to his personal friend, Dr. Ted Waugh, with a signed Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) and full documentation, including the original invoice from Shelby. The vehicle remains in near-delivery condition and features period-correct equipment, including a cast-iron 427 side-oiler block, Le Mans carburetor, and Aviaid oil system.
Finished in an authentic aluminum body with a black interior, this Cobra is a tribute to Shelby’s racing legacy. The gearbox is a correct, blueprinted 4-speed manual, and authentic features like Raydyot mirrors, Lucas headlights, and the original-style horn button complete the historical package.

Stored in a climate-controlled environment and regularly maintained, CSX3095 is now offered at $890,000, a time-capsule collectible that bridges the gap between 1965 and modern automotive history.
