A beautifully restored 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle, nicknamed “Jailba8,” is scheduled to cross the auction block on March 22nd, 2025, at the Glendale auction, boasting an impressive array of customizations and performance enhancements. This classic vehicle, expertly reimagined by Goodfellows Classic Cars in Phoenix, Arizona, represents a pinnacle of automotive restoration and customization with an estimated $350,000 invested in its rebuild.

The Chevelle, originally launched in the mid-1960s as a mid-sized car by Chevrolet, has been transformed into a high-performance powerhouse featuring a supercharged 6.2L LSA V-8 engine. This modern GM powertrain is rated at 725 horsepower, thanks to significant upgrades including L92-type aluminum heads and a Texas Speed LS-3B valvetrain. The car’s formidable engine is complemented by a column-shifted 4L75E automatic transmission and a high-performance Strange 9-inch differential with limited-slip functionality.

The vehicle rides on an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis that integrates an advanced four-bar rear suspension layout, providing a modern driving experience aligned with its classic aesthetic. The suspension system includes IFS control arms, rack-and-pinion steering, and heavy-duty springs, further enhanced by Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes for optimal stopping power.

Externally, the Chevelle shines in a PPG Cortez Silver finish, achieved after meticulous paintwork by Goodfellows. The exterior retains the OEM chrome bumpers and grille but eschews additional trim for a sleeker look. A low-profile cowl hood from AMD adds to its streamlined appearance.
Inside, the Chevelle features a custom black leather bench seat with blue stitching, crafted by Armando’s Upholstery of San Jacinto, California. The cabin is equipped with modern amenities such as Vintage Air, Dakota Digital gauges, power windows, and custom door handles, making it as comfortable as it is stylish.
This Chevelle has not only been a fixture on the Goodguys tour but also received recognition among the Builder’s Choice Top 10. It stands as a testament to the detailed craftsmanship and passion for automotive excellence that Goodfellows Classic Cars is known for.
As “Jailba8” prepares to find its new owner at the upcoming Glendale 2025 auction, it continues to embody the spirit of classic American muscle cars, blending traditional design with contemporary performance enhancements.
