1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Heads to February 2026 Auction With Factory Performance Specs

A 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429 is scheduled to cross the auction block in February 2026, offering collectors a detailed example of one of Ford’s most performance-focused Mustangs from the era. The car is set to run on Saturday during the February auction and is identified by VIN 0F02Z110859.

Finished in Grabber Blue, the two-door Mustang features a Sports Roof coupe body style paired with a white interior trimmed in White Comfortweave. The interior layout includes luxury bucket seats and period-correct equipment designed to balance performance intent with driver comfort. Inside, the car is equipped with a rim-blow steering wheel, tachometer, electric clock, and an AM/FM 8-track audio system.

At the heart of the Mustang is a 429 cubic-inch engine fitted with Boss 429 valve covers. The engine setup includes a Dominator-style intake manifold, a Holley Dominator carburetor, and a Mallory ignition system. Supporting components include deep groove pulleys, a Fomoco radiator and fan, ceramic-coated headers, and a mandrel-bent exhaust system that exits through Flowmaster mufflers. A rev limiter is also part of the drivetrain configuration.

Power is delivered through a close-ratio four-speed manual transmission, identified by a Hurst shifter and Top Loader exhaust system. The rear end is a 9-inch Ford unit fitted with a 3.91:1 locker differential, a setup consistent with high-performance driving. Steering and braking are assisted by power steering and power disc brakes.

The exterior includes a functional hood scoop, Magnum wheels wrapped in Goodyear F60-15 tires, and period-correct detailing. Additional equipment includes a trunk-mounted battery, space saver spare tire, and factory-style exhaust routing.

This Boss 429 is presented with a combination of performance hardware and factory comfort features that reflect its original configuration. With its distinctive Grabber Blue finish, four-speed manual transmission, and detailed mechanical specification, the Mustang represents a well-documented example slated for the February 2026 auction, where it will be offered to bidders seeking a high-profile muscle car from the 1970 model year.
