$4.5 Million Ferrari Daytona SP3 Caught Drifting in Rare Display of V12 Power

Ferrari’s ultra-exclusive Daytona SP3 is designed to be admired, not abused—but one fearless driver had other plans. In a now-viral video posted by social media user @manuelferrariph, a $4.5 million Ferrari Daytona SP3 was filmed powersliding around a roundabout, tires spinning and V12 engine wailing, in a jaw-dropping display rarely seen outside of a track.

The 829-horsepower Daytona SP3, one of just 599 units slated for global production, is considered one of the most exclusive Ferrari models of the modern era. Inspired by the Prancing Horse’s dominant sports prototypes of the 1960s, the SP3 is part of Ferrari’s Icona series—a celebration of heritage fused with cutting-edge performance.

Under its sculpted bodywork, the SP3 is powered by a reworked version of the 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 from the 812 Competizione. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine delivers peak power at 9,250 rpm, enabling a 0-62 mph sprint in 2.85 seconds and a top speed exceeding 211 mph.

Yet, unlike most of its counterparts—typically tucked away in climate-controlled garages or shown only at concours events—this particular SP3 hit the pavement in dramatic fashion. The video, reportedly captured in Italy, shows the car executing a controlled drift, its rear tires smoking as the driver confidently slides the multi-million-dollar machine in a circle.

Reactions to the stunt have ranged from awe to astonishment, with enthusiasts praising the driver’s skill and nerve. Others, understandably, wince at the thought of risking damage to such a rare automotive masterpiece.

Regardless of opinion, one thing is clear: the Daytona SP3 isn’t just a static sculpture. It’s a performance machine built to be driven—even sideways.

And for a fleeting moment, one owner proved that even Ferrari’s rarest supercars can still have some very expensive fun.
