Thousands flock to Amelia Island each year for the auctions and car shows, with this year being no exception. Of the many events, fans of more modern Mercedes should absolutely check out the Amelia Cars and Caffeine where The Patina Collective will be showing off over 20 of its “Youngtimers Era” cars.

An original 1967 Ford GT40 will provide the new owner with historic racing access.

Highlighted in this collection of 80s and 90s Mercedes are those featuring the coach building resurgence of the two decades. That means bespoke coachwork and engineering modifications from greats like AMG, Brabus, SGS, Lorinser, etc.

As you might imagine, some of these vehicles were motorsports greats from back in the day, including some hill climb champions as well as AMG Autobahn legends.

Those which have been specifically mentioned include a 1983 Mercedes 1000 SEC Gullwing build by SGS, 1985 Mercedes 500 SEC AMG Widebody DOHC Stratton, 1994 Mercedes 500 SL AMG Picasso Edition, and 1990 Mercedes 190E Cabriolet by Schulz.

Anticipation about what other cars might be put on display is high. We’re sure a few surprises will be in the mix, making attendance a real treat.

“The Amelia Concours d’ Elegance inaugural event was first held in 1996, at the crescendo of the Mercedes coach building era. It’s only fitting that nearly 30 years later these vehicles have a place on the lawn.  We are proud to bring the largest collection ever of Youngtimer examples to one of the most prestigious car events in the world,” said Patina Collective Founder and CEO, Daniel Hassan.

According to The Patina Collective, most of the cars which will be on display have never been shown off to the general public. If you want to have a chance to see these Mercedes in person, head to the Golf Club of Amelia Island at the Ritz Carlton on Saturday, March 2 from 9 am to 1 pm.

The Patina Collective is the largest private collection of Mercedes in the world.
