The Saratoga Motorcar Auction will soon feature one of America’s most fearsome performance icons: a 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10. Representing the first model year of the Viper’s third generation, this example offers both unrelenting power and well-preserved originality — a rare combination in today’s market.

The 2003 redesign elevated Chrysler’s halo car from brash brute to refined supercar. Under the hood, engineers increased displacement from 488 to 505 cubic inches, pushing the naturally aspirated V10’s output to 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the SRT-10 could sprint from zero to 60 mph in about four seconds, while a center-mounted tachometer and 220 mph speedometer hinted at its staggering top-speed potential.

This particular Viper stands out for its condition and provenance. A two-owner car with a clean history, it has never been tracked, modified, or abused. The seller notes it has lived in climate-controlled storage and comes with its original window sticker, both factory keys, and books. Recent servicing included fresh Michelin Pilot Sport tires, a driveline inspection, fluid replacements, and a professional ceramic detailing — ensuring it is both mechanically sound and cosmetically pristine.

Inside, the black leather cockpit remains true to the Viper’s race-bred philosophy, with a straightforward layout and push-button ignition that recalls classic sports cars. Power steering, power accessories, and air conditioning provide welcome usability without diluting its raw performance edge.

Collectors often view early third-generation SRT-10s as an ideal balance of old-school aggression and incremental refinement. With its documented history, originality, and meticulous care, this 2003 Dodge Viper is expected to draw serious attention when it crosses the Saratoga auction block.
The Saratoga Auto Auction takes place September 19-20. We anticipate more than 250 vehicles, several with no reserve and 100 lots of memorabilia. The auction is the highlight of several events including Thursday’s Preview Day and an evening concert. Plan a trip or register to bid online.
