A rare piece of Lamborghini history is set to cross the auction block in Europe this fall. Broad Arrow Auctions has announced it will offer the 1998 Lamborghini Pregunta during its Zoute Concours sale on October 10, 2025, with estimates ranging between €2.5 million and €3.5 million.

The Pregunta is often regarded as the last Lamborghini concept created before Audi purchased the brand in 1998. Built on the chassis of the Diablo, the coupe was developed in collaboration with French coachbuilder Heuliez and styled with heavy inspiration from the Dassault Rafale fighter jet. Its canopy-style glass dome and angular bodywork set it apart from anything else on the road.

Underneath, the Pregunta retains Lamborghini’s 5.7-liter V12 engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The performance figures, even by modern standards, are impressive: a 0-62 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 207 mph.

Where the Pregunta truly stands out is inside the cabin. Ahead of its time, the interior incorporated technology that would become mainstream decades later, including a digital Formula 1-style dashboard, satellite navigation and a rear-view camera system in place of mirrors. The cockpit also used aviation-inspired materials and design cues, further emphasizing its jet fighter theme.

Though it was fully functional, the Pregunta never moved beyond the concept stage. Audi’s takeover shifted Lamborghini’s focus, shelving the project in favor of new models. Heuliez held onto the one-off prototype for several years, displaying it at international shows, before selling it to a private collector in 2008. Lamborghini itself later displayed the car in its museum and certified it through its Polo Storico heritage division.

Collectors and enthusiasts are expected to closely watch the auction, as opportunities to acquire such a unique piece of Lamborghini history are exceedingly rare.
