Two generations of Pontiac performance will share the virtual spotlight when the Classic Car Auction Group opens its online auction on October 25, 2025. Both are Trans Ams—but from dramatically different eras—showing how Pontiac evolved from late-’70s muscle to early-2000s refinement without losing its attitude.
1979 Pontiac Trans Am – Classic Muscle Appeal

The first highlight is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, finished in fresh paint and powered by a 403-cubic-inch V8 paired with a three-speed automatic. The seller notes the car runs strong and drives well, with only minor paint imperfections from use. It’s equipped with air conditioning (just needs installation) and new leaf springs, giving it a strong mechanical foundation. This classic T/A embodies the spirit of the post–Smokey and the Bandit era—flashy, powerful, and unmistakably Pontiac. The car will be available for collection in Peyton, Colorado after the auction.
2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 Convertible – Final-Year Powerhouse

Fast-forward to the final year of Firebird production, and you’ll find the second standout—a 2002 Trans Am WS6 convertible with just 40,000 miles. This Ram Air-equipped 5.7-liter V8 model delivers true modern muscle, and finding one this clean has become increasingly rare. The WS6 package added functional ram air induction, chrome wheels, and a power convertible top, combining performance and open-air cruising in one package. With leather interior, keyless entry, traction control, and the Monsoon sound system, this Trans Am blends comfort with performance in a way few cars of its time could. This one is being sold out of Lolo, Montana.
This Online Auction will also feature thirty cars selling from the Jay Cimino Collection at No Reserve. Pre-bidding opens October 18th with the livestream auction starting at 10 a.m. MT on October 25th. Lots will sell in run order via live auctioneer.
