A rare, low-mileage 2006 Ford GT is being offered as the centerpiece of a sweepstakes that gives entrants the choice between the supercar itself or a $250,000 cash alternative, according to details released with the promotion.
The car is a one-owner example showing just 235 miles since new and represents one of only 190 Ford GTs produced in Midnight Blue with painted white over-the-top stripes for the 2006 model year. The interior is trimmed in Ebony leather, consistent with factory specifications, and the car remains largely as it left the assembly line two decades ago.

The second-generation Ford GT was developed as a modern tribute to the GT40 race cars that dominated endurance racing in the 1960s. Its design and construction reflected that heritage, featuring an extruded-aluminum space frame, roll-bonded floor panels and lightweight aluminum bodywork. The mid-engine layout and aggressive aerodynamics marked a dramatic departure from most contemporary production cars bearing the Blue Oval.
Power comes from a supercharged 5.4-liter dual overhead cam V8 engine mounted behind the cockpit. Factory-rated at 550 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque, the engine uses a Lysholm screw-type supercharger and dry-sump lubrication system. Output is sent to the rear wheels through a Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential.

This particular example was ordered with several desirable factory options, including forged aluminum BBS wheels measuring 18 inches in front and 19 inches in the rear, red-painted Brembo brake calipers and a McIntosh CD stereo system. Additional equipment includes cross-drilled and ventilated Brembo brakes, HID headlights, fog lamps, air conditioning, a front splitter, rear diffuser and a dual center-exit exhaust.
Inside, the car is fitted with Sparco seats featuring carbon-fiber shells and GT40-style ventilation grommets, reinforcing the model’s racing-inspired roots while maintaining road-car comfort.
The sweepstakes offers entrants the option to take delivery of the Ford GT or choose a $250,000 cash prize instead. Vehicles of this caliber and condition are rarely seen outside of private collections, particularly with mileage this low.

The 2006 Ford GT remains one of the most recognizable modern American supercars, blending retro design with serious performance. Whether chosen as a collectible investment or an alternative cash payout, the prize reflects the enduring appeal of one of Ford’s most ambitious production cars.
