While many revel in the bells and whistles included in the modern Land Rover Defender, not everyone is a fan. Ship builder Firmship apparently is one who wants to take the new model and roll it back to a simpler setup. Doing just that, it also converted all the trim and even the wheels to white, providing the ultimate statement in clean sheet design.

Apparently, Firmship is famous for its simple ships which are built for a no-nonsense approach to maritime enjoyment. Created by Job Smeets, it strips away the business of not only the exterior of the off-roader, but also simplifies the interior.
Not only is the exterior of the Land Rover Defender white, it’s been lacquered like a ship. The firm says it used the toughest metal lacquer on the market, something which usually is applied to construction equipment and utility boxes. It should be tough stuff, literally taking a beating and showing little to no wear.
You’ll also note those white wheels have a shape that’s a callout to the original Defender wheels used long ago. That’s an intentional move, but it adds a degree of nostalgia to a vehicle which was already designed to be the spiritual and literal successor to a cultural touchstone.
On the interior, you’ll find light grey adorning the seats, center console, door trim, dash, steering wheel, and more. Same goes for under the hood and even the tow hitch. Firmship left no stone unturned in its quest for simplicity.
We expect not everyone is going to love the Firmship Defender, just like not everyone is a huge fan of the new Defenders or any vehicle under the sun. But for some, this back to basics approach to the iconic British vehicle is like a breath of fresh air.
