Award-Winning 1966 Pontiac GTO Restomod Offered by Farland Classic Restoration

A stunning, custom-built 1966 Pontiac GTO Restomod is now available through Farland Classic Restoration, blending classic muscle car lines with modern performance and subtle, high-end upgrades. Priced at $169,000, this show-stopping GTO is being offered at a fraction of its restoration cost.

Finished in Gold Flake Red with a black interior, this GTO was originally acquired in Arizona—ideal for sourcing rust-free classics. It began as a paint project, but quickly evolved into a full-blown dream build for a long-time client who had envisioned owning a GTO since high school.

Under the hood, the factory 400-cubic-inch Pontiac V8 has been bored out to 468ci, creating a true street machine. The custom engine bay features a smoothed firewall, reworked inner fenders, and a redesigned radiator surround, all tucked neatly beneath the original front clip. Paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the car delivers modern performance in a vintage package.

Custom touches abound: tucked and reshaped bumpers, a hidden antenna, and extensive bodywork all contribute to the GTO’s clean, refined appearance. Inside, the cabin remains largely stock in style, but includes VintageAir A/C, a modernized factory-look stereo, and even a push-button start. A stealth electronic rearview mirror features integrated GPS and backup camera, while the ashtray now conceals controls for a gated exhaust system and an auxiliary stereo input.

The suspension has been upgraded for better handling, while Wilwood disc brakes with electric assist ensure strong, reliable stopping power. In the trunk, a custom carpeted surround showcases the GTO emblem and Pontiac arrowhead, with compartments for washer fluid, the relocated battery, and electronics.

The car has won numerous awards and appeared at prestigious events—and now it’s ready for its next chapter.

According to Farland, the asking price represents “a steal” given the craftsmanship and investment involved. See it here.
