Bentley Prepares Track-Focused Continental With Supercar Ambitions

Bentley is signaling a bold pivot toward raw performance as it prepares to unveil a more extreme version of its Continental coupe — one that could rival supercars on the road and track.

According to reports and recent spy shots, the British marque is deep in development of a track-focused Continental that aims to showcase Bentley’s racing pedigree rather than its usual luxury-first approach. The car is being tested with aerodynamic enhancements such as prominent front canards and a large ducktail rear wing, signaling serious performance intent.

This upcoming model is expected to sit above the Continental GT Speed in terms of capability. That’s notable, considering the current GT Speed already packs 771 horsepower, thanks in part to a hybrid-boosted, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8. However, the new car may ditch the hybrid system to reduce weight and prioritize driver engagement — a move purists will likely cheer.

Other performance tweaks include a quad-exhaust setup and likely interior refinements, such as bucket seats and a stripped-down cabin, aimed at improving agility and shedding unnecessary luxury weight. These changes suggest Bentley is leaning into its motorsport heritage, which includes endurance wins at Le Mans and successful stints in GT racing.

Though the upcoming model retains much of the Continental’s iconic design language, its upgraded aerodynamics and aggressive hardware hint at a more visceral, track-capable experience. Bentley hasn’t officially announced performance figures, but expectations are sky-high — especially if this model targets supercar benchmarks.

Bentley’s new performance flagship is expected to debut soon, perhaps as a limited-edition swan song for the V8 era before full electrification takes hold. One thing is clear: Crewe’s next coupe isn’t just about comfort — it’s about conquering corners and making noise doing it.
