Bentley has announced the release of its latest luxury creation, the Batur Convertible, marking the continuation of its bespoke Mulliner series. This grand tourer, revealed on Tuesday, is the third in a series of limited-run models, following the likes of the Bacalar barchetta. Only 16 of these opulent two-seaters will be produced, and they have already been spoken for.

Crafted in Bentley’s Mulliner workshop, the Batur Convertible is based on the Continental GT but distinguishes itself with unique aesthetic touches and advanced customization options. It retains many of the coupe’s design features, such as the razor-thin headlights and sculpted aerodynamic package, but introduces a convertible format that lacks a hardtop roof.

This model is significant as it represents one of the last Bentleys to house the storied twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W-12 engine. The engine, shared with the Batur coupe, delivers an impressive 740 horsepower and 738 ft-lbs of torque, capable of propelling the coupe variant from zero to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 209 mph.

Inside, the Batur Convertible shines with extensive customization possibilities. Bentley’s Mulliner division offers a range of finishes and materials, allowing buyers to tailor nearly every aspect of the interior. Noteworthy features include an “airbridge” behind the seats that recalls the design of classic barchetta cars and serves as a semi-enclosed luggage area, and exclusive 3D-printed rose gold trim on all key touchpoints.

The car is equipped with a retractable soft-top that can be deployed in approximately 20 seconds, even while the vehicle is moving at speeds up to 30 mph, although no images of the soft-top are available as of now.

While the financial details remain undisclosed, the Batur Convertible is expected to command a price similar to its coupe counterpart, which was around $2.1 million. With all 16 units already claimed, this model underscores Bentley’s exclusivity and continues the marque’s tradition of delivering custom, ultra-luxury vehicles tailored to the desires of its discerning clientele.
