Cadillac is preparing to electrify its high-performance reputation with the introduction of the 2026 Lyriq-V, marking the luxury brand’s first electric SUV to join its esteemed ‘V’ lineup. Slated for a 2025 debut, the Lyriq-V aims to bring searing acceleration and premium design to the luxury EV market, following the path blazed by Cadillac’s powerful V-Series models.

Cadillac’s ‘V’ badge has long been a symbol of pure power, gracing models like the CT5-V Blackwing with a supercharged V8 engine. Now, the 2026 Lyriq-V will take this legacy into the all-electric era, with rumors suggesting a performance boost that could exceed 700 horsepower. While official specifications remain under wraps, Cadillac’s teaser video has given a few enticing hints. A close-up shows Brembo-branded brake calipers, hinting at the kind of high-performance stopping power that matches the anticipated rapid acceleration. The steering wheel also features a prominent ‘V’ button, likely activating advanced driving modes that will allow drivers to unleash the Lyriq-V’s full potential.

Currently, Cadillac’s most powerful Lyriq offers a dual-motor setup generating 515 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. However, with the Lyriq-V positioned as the brand’s pinnacle electric SUV, enthusiasts can expect significantly higher output—possibly putting it in competition with the Tesla Model X Plaid and Mercedes-AMG EQE SUV. Cadillac also has the option to reserve its renowned “Blackwing” label for an EV version in the future, should they decide to take performance to the next level.

The Lyriq-V will usher Cadillac into the high-performance EV segment, combining luxury with aggressive power for drivers seeking thrilling electric performance. Full details are expected in early 2025, setting the stage for Cadillac’s official debut of this electrified powerhouse.
