Only 745 Corvettes were equipped with this setup in 1959, making this “Fuelie” among the most sought-after performance variants of the C1 generation. Mated to a four-speed manual transmission (RPO 685), the combination represented the cutting edge of Chevrolet’s racing-inspired technology in the late 1950s.

Finished in Roman Red with contrasting White coves, this car is one of just 805 to wear the bold color combination in 1959. Inside, a red interior complements the exterior finish, while period-correct details such as the Wonderbar AM radio, factory clock, and trunk mat reinforce its authenticity.

The Corvette benefits from a vintage restoration and retains its correct drivetrain, distributor, and generator. Additional highlights include a cold start primer system, Positraction rear axle (RPO 675), and steel wheels with spinner covers wrapped in Firestone wide whitewall tires. A white soft top adds to the classic presentation.

Maintained in a climate-controlled facility, this Fuelie represents both preservation and performance. Its mechanical condition and period-correct detailing ensure it remains not just a showpiece but a prime example of Chevrolet’s early engineering innovation.

With its combination of rarity, provenance, and timeless styling, the 1959 Corvette Fuelie Convertible is expected to be one of the standout offerings in Indianapolis. For collectors, it offers a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable Corvettes of its era. See it here.
