Czinger 21C Shatters Record at Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Czinger 21C has set a new benchmark in the automotive world by becoming the fastest production car in the history of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The hybrid hypercar, driven by Chris Ward, completed the iconic hill climb in a blistering 48.83 seconds, surpassing the previous record set by the Rimac Nevera last year.

The stunning feat was achieved on Sunday, with the 21C navigating the 1.16-mile course at an astonishing pace. Video footage captures the 3D-printed car maneuvering through the track with precision, even making contact with a hay bale barrier near the finish line, which slightly hampered its time. Despite this, the Czinger 21C managed to break the previous record by nearly half a second, marking a significant achievement for the California-based automaker.

The Czinger 21C is no ordinary vehicle. It boasts an innovative design that includes bulbous fenders, a jet-style two-person cockpit, and a massive rear wing. Powered by a hybrid powertrain, the 21C features a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V8 engine coupled with two electric motors, generating a staggering 1,250 horsepower. The Czinger 21C is offered in three variants, with the standard model focusing on track performance and maximum downforce. The V Max variant features a sleek design capable of reaching speeds up to 253 mph, while the Blackbird version adds an extra 100 horsepower, pushing the limits of performance even further.
