Koenigsegg, the Swedish automaker renowned for its cutting-edge hypercars, continues to inspire with a digital concept that feels like a glimpse into the future. The Koenigsegg Aethera, designed by Alexandre Bernini during his internship with the company, showcases a striking blend of innovation, elegance, and unmistakable Koenigsegg DNA.
Currently existing only in the digital realm, the Aethera pushes the boundaries of design while respecting the brand’s established aesthetic. Its sleek silhouette incorporates Koenigsegg’s signature double-bubble roofline and iconic Dihedral Synchro-Helix doors, which open and rotate with a unique elegance unmatched in the automotive world.
The car’s aerodynamic features are equally impressive. A bulbous front nose with inset headlights is designed to channel airflow from the high-pressure zones of the front bumper, through the wheel arches, and out the back. Complemented by a large front splitter, the Aethera promises significant downforce for high-speed stability.
Bernini’s attention to detail extends to bold, sculptural elements, including scoops, channels, and bare forged carbon panels that manage airflow with precision. While this digital concept lacks wind tunnel data, its design exudes speed and performance.
A highlight of the Aethera is its ability to reimagine familiar Koenigsegg motifs. Though it draws inspiration from models like the CC850 and Gemera, it introduces a fresh perspective with sensual curves and bold features. The design speaks to Koenigsegg’s tradition of innovation, exploring possibilities that could influence future production models.
While there are no immediate plans to bring the Aethera to life, enthusiasts can dream of its potential—a hybrid powerhouse blending a 5.0L V8 with electric motors, delivering 2,300 horsepower. For now, the Aethera represents the creative heights possible when engineering meets artistry.
