Dubai is on the verge of hosting an extraordinary auction that promises to captivate high-end collectors and enthusiasts alike. Scheduled for March 9 at Concrete in the Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz district, RM Sotheby’s inaugural Dubai auction will showcase an array of ultra-rare supercars and a unique timepiece, with values soaring up to $3.5 million and $400,000, respectively.
Among the automotive marvels is the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss edition. Drawing inspiration from Sir Stirling Moss’s victory at the 1955 Mille Miglia, this limited-edition vehicle, one of only 75 produced, is expected to command bids between $3 million and $3.5 million. Flaunting a mere 9,233 kilometers, its metallic Crystal Antimon Grey finish is sure to turn heads.
The auction also highlights a 2018 Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet, an epitome of luxury and exclusivity, anticipated to fetch between $700,000 and $800,000. This model, limited to just 99 units, offers an unparalleled off-road luxury experience.
A bespoke 2015 Rolls-Royce Silver Spectre Shooting Brake, designed by Neils van Roij Design and meticulously crafted by Carat Duchatelet over 2,500 hours, will also grace the auction floor. This one-of-a-kind vehicle is estimated to attract bids ranging from $275,000 to $325,000.
Another standout is the 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé, a hypercar that combines luxury with performance, expected to go for between $2.9 million and $3.3 million. With only 123 kilometers on the odometer, it represents the pinnacle of automotive engineering.
Beyond these automotive masterpieces, the auction will offer collectibles such as a race suit and helmet worn by the legendary Michael Schumacher, alongside model cars and junior cars, appealing to memorabilia collectors.
A highlight in the non-automotive category is a rare Rolex Daytona UAE Stainless steel chronograph, featuring the UAE coat of arms and a dial paying tribute to Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This exclusive timepiece is estimated to reach up to $400,000. Additionally, a Rolex Daytona in 18k yellow gold is expected to garner bids of $20,000 to $25,000, further enhancing the auction’s allure.
This event is not only a celebration of automotive and horological excellence but also a testament to Dubai’s growing prominence in the global luxury collectibles market.
