Owning a vintage Ferrari is a dream for many, but owning one with a direct link to Enzo Ferrari himself is an unparalleled opportunity. A 1962 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 prototype, once the personal company car of Il Commendatore, is now up for sale on Facebook Marketplace. This historic grand tourer, with its pristine Light Ivory finish and a price tag of $865,000, offers a chance to own a true piece of Ferrari’s legacy.

Chassis 4085, the first of four prototypes for the 330 GT 2+2, was constructed in August 1962 as Ferrari transitioned from the 250 series. Powered by a 4.0-liter Columbo V-12 engine paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, this car represented cutting-edge engineering at the time. Its simplified dashboard and spacious interior made it a more refined evolution of the Ferrari lineup.

This specific car’s provenance is unmatched. Retained by Ferrari for two years, it served as Enzo Ferrari’s personal vehicle and even featured prominently in promotional materials for the new 330 lineup. After its time at the factory, it was imported to the U.S. by Luigi Chinetti, America’s first Ferrari dealer and a Le Mans winner, further cementing its historical significance.

Despite its value, the car is surprisingly listed on Facebook Marketplace, bypassing the typical auction route. This rare gem, one of only two remaining early prototypes, last changed hands at auction in 2018, and its price has climbed significantly since then.

For Ferrari enthusiasts, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to own a car that not only shaped the brand’s history but also carried the legendary Enzo Ferrari himself. With its $865,000 asking price, it’s a significant investment—but one that comes with unparalleled bragging rights in the world of vintage cars.
