Two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso made headlines recently when he was seen driving his stunning Ford GT Heritage Edition through the streets of Monaco. Known for its luxurious lifestyle and iconic racing heritage, Monaco proved to be the perfect backdrop for Alonso and his striking supercar.
Accompanied by his former manager, Flavio Briatore, Alonso was spotted outside an upscale restaurant. However, it wasn’t just his presence that turned heads—it was his unique Ford GT Heritage Edition. Unlike the standard Heritage Edition livery inspired by the 1966 Daytona-winning GT40, Alonso’s car boasts a custom gold exterior with red highlights and a prominent No. 5 roundel on the front and sides. This bespoke design adds a personal touch to an already rare vehicle, reflecting the F1 driver’s penchant for exclusivity and elegance.
The Heritage Edition, introduced in 2020, pays homage to Ford’s motorsport legacy, particularly the GT40’s iconic victory at Daytona. While Alonso’s custom gold paint job sets his car apart, the model retains its signature Alcantara-wrapped interior and optional carbon-fiber wheels, available with the Heritage Upgrade Package.
Under the hood, the Heritage Edition shares the same powertrain as the standard Ford GT: a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing 660 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the supercar can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph.
Alonso’s choice of car aligns perfectly with his racing pedigree and refined tastes, embodying speed, style, and engineering excellence. The streets of Monaco, with their racing history and glamorous allure, served as the ideal stage for the Spanish driver and his jaw-dropping Ford GT Heritage Edition to shine.
In a city known for its high-performance machines, Alonso’s golden supercar managed to steal the spotlight, reminding everyone that the F1 legend’s passion for speed extends far beyond the track.
