Ferrari FXX K Evo Heads to Auction as Rare Track-Only Hybrid Hypercar

A 2018 Ferrari FXX K Evo, one of the most advanced experimental vehicles ever produced by the Italian manufacturer, is scheduled to be offered at auction with no reserve, carrying an estimate of €5.5 million to €6.5 million. The car will be sold with post-sale offsite storage, with bidder registration and auction activity opening in the coming weeks.

The FXX K Evo represents the pinnacle of Ferrari’s XX Programme, an initiative created to push engineering boundaries without the constraints of road legality or racing regulations. Developed exclusively for track use, the FXX K Evo is not homologated for public roads and was made available only to a small group of Ferrari’s most trusted clients. Fewer than 40 examples of the FXX K platform were produced between 2015 and 2018, with only a limited number completed by the factory directly in Evo specification.

Power comes from a 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V12 paired with Ferrari’s HY-KERS hybrid system. The combined output is approximately 1,050 horsepower, delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The hybrid system was engineered for performance rather than efficiency, providing immediate torque delivery, regenerative braking, and adjustable energy deployment tailored for circuit driving. Braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs, while independent suspension with adaptive dampers manages the car’s extreme aerodynamic loads.

The Evo upgrade, introduced in 2017, focused heavily on aerodynamics. Revisions included a fixed rear wing mounted on a twin-fin structure, a redesigned rear diffuser, and a more aggressive front-end layout. These changes significantly increased downforce, allowing the car to generate levels comparable to contemporary GT race cars at speed. Weight reduction through expanded carbon-fiber use and recalibrated electronic systems further improved handling and stability.

This particular example is especially notable for its minimal use. It has recorded fewer than 100 kilometers, all accumulated under factory supervision at Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit. The car has never participated in XX Programme events and has remained under single ownership since new. Recent factory servicing in 2025 included extensive maintenance work totaling more than €145,000.

As a fusion of Formula 1-derived hybrid technology, advanced aerodynamics, and experimental engineering, the FXX K Evo stands as one of Ferrari’s most extreme creations. Its upcoming sale offers a rare opportunity to acquire a virtually unused example of the brand’s most uncompromising track-only hypercar.
