The iconic Pagani Zonda, a supercar that has captivated automotive enthusiasts since its debut in 1999, is set to make its final appearance at this year’s Monterey Car Week. The last new example of Pagani’s legendary first model, aptly named the Zonda Arrivederci, will take center stage at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, on Friday, August 16. This marks the end of an era for the Italian marque, which has been producing this model for nearly a quarter of a century.
The unveiling of the Zonda Arrivederci was recently announced by its owner, Kris Singh, who had kept his identity under wraps until now. In an emotional Instagram post, Singh described the car as the “single most special car of my lifetime” and revealed that its creation took 12 years. This one-off masterpiece represents the 140th and final Zonda to roll off Pagani’s production line, closing a significant chapter in the company’s history.
While the official public debut is just days away, images of the Zonda Arrivederci have been circulating online since February, offering a glimpse of its unique design. The car features a glossy, multi-color exposed carbon-fiber livery that elegantly blends Argento (silver) with dark blue, accented by a distinctive red and blue bi-color line—details that have never been seen before on a Zonda. The roadster’s interior continues the steampunk aesthetic with bold red leather upholstery, while dark blue six-bi-spoke wheels, custom-made for this car, complete the striking exterior.
Although details about the powertrain have yet to be confirmed, it’s likely that the Arrivederci will be equipped with the same Mercedes-Benz-sourced 7.3-liter V-12 engine that powered the last Zonda models. This engine, in the Zonda HP Barchetta, delivered a formidable 789 horsepower and 627 ft-lbs of torque, a setup that could very well be replicated in this final iteration.
The Zonda’s journey has been a remarkable one, with its successor, the Huayra, introduced in 2011, and the Utopia following in 2022. Despite these newer models, the Zonda has remained a beloved fixture in the supercar world, with enthusiasts and collectors alike cherishing its unique blend of performance and artistry.
As Pagani bids farewell to the Zonda with the Arrivederci, the company’s future plans may still include rebuilds of existing Zonda chassis, ensuring that the legacy of this extraordinary supercar will continue to thrive for years to come.
