A high-speed chase involving a white Lamborghini Huracán, valued at £250,000, ended in a dramatic crash near Chesterfield over the weekend. The driver, who had been attempting to evade police, lost control and crashed into barriers, abandoning the wrecked supercar at the scene before fleeing on foot.

The chase began after local law enforcement recognized the Huracán, which had previously avoided police stops. The driver pushed the powerful vehicle to its limits, but the Lamborghini, known for its top speed of 201.9 mph and 0-62 mph acceleration in just 2.9 seconds, spun off the road and sustained significant damage. The rear tire was ripped off in the impact, leaving the once-pristine Italian sports car in a severely damaged state.

Derbyshire Police’s roads policing unit shared images of the wreck on social media, criticizing the driver’s reckless behavior. “The power far outweighed the talent,” the unit commented, underscoring the driver’s lack of control over the high-performance vehicle.

Despite the driver’s initial escape, police are actively pursuing leads to locate them. In the immediate aftermath, two individuals in their 20s were arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of driving offenses. They have since been released on bail, pending further investigations.

Police have emphasized the seriousness of the situation and urged anyone with information regarding the driver or the crash to come forward. The case highlights the dangers of high-speed driving and the risks posed when attempting to flee from law enforcement.
