The Koenigsegg CC850 made a spectacular debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, seamlessly blending retro design with modern innovation. This latest hypercar is a tribute to Koenigsegg’s first production model, the CC, embodying the spirit of early 2000s supercars while incorporating state-of-the-art technology.

The CC850 stands out with its elegant, minimalistic aero design, harking back to the original CC’s aesthetic rather than the aggressive style of the Agera series. The car features Koenigsegg’s groundbreaking nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST), which mimics a manual gearbox. This innovative transmission offers drivers the tactile feel of a manual shift, complete with an artificial clutch pedal and gear shifter, while maintaining the convenience and efficiency of an automatic.

Powered by a 5.0-liter flat-plane crank twin-turbo V8, the CC850 produces 1,200 horsepower on standard fuel and up to 1,385 horsepower on E85. This powertrain ensures that the car remains competitive with modern hypercars, delivering exceptional performance. The CC850’s presence at Goodwood highlighted its combination of classic beauty and advanced engineering, making it a standout among supercars.

Initially, Koenigsegg planned to produce 50 units of the CC850 to celebrate Christian von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday. However, due to high demand, an additional 20 units were added to mark the 20th anniversary of the original CC. These limited-edition cars come with a substantial price tag, reflecting their exclusivity and technological sophistication.
