What should have been a thrilling day for a new Lamborghini owner turned into a nightmare as a 1994 Lamborghini Diablo VT suffered a mishap during delivery. The iconic supercar fell off a transport truck ramp in the American northwest, leaving it partially suspended in a precarious position. The incident quickly gained attention online, with photos of the unfortunate scene sparking reactions across social media.
Andre Thompson, who posted the images to the Radwood Facebook page, captured the moment the Diablo hung mid-fall from the delivery truck’s lift. Comments poured in, including one from Morgan Mailloux, a service manager at Cats Exotics in Lynnwood, Washington, who confirmed that the dealership had recently sold the car.
The Lamborghini in question, a 1994 Diablo VT, is a rare gem with just 13,700 miles on the odometer. Listed for $295,000, the car was one of approximately 400 units produced between 1993 and 1998, making the damage all the more heartbreaking for the new owner and enthusiasts alike.
According to an Instagram user on the supercar.fails page, the incident occurred while the transport team was loading a 1965 Ford Mustang into the truck. To accommodate the Mustang, the Diablo had to be backed out of the truck. Unfortunately, the ramp collapsed mid-process, sending the supercar into its unfortunate predicament. A crane was eventually called to stabilize and recover the vehicle.
Visible damage to the front quarter panel was noted, but concerns remain about potential unseen structural damage caused by the fall. The rare Diablo will likely require extensive repair work to restore it to its original glory.
For the new owner, the excitement of acquiring this iconic V12 supercar has undoubtedly been dampened. Hopefully, the car can be repaired soon, returning it to the road where it belongs.
