The Lotus Theory 1 is built around the brand’s new design philosophy, “The Lotus Theory,” which is guided by three key principles: Digital, Natural, and Analog. Powered by a 70 kWh battery and an all-wheel-drive system, the Theory 1 generates an impressive 1,000 horsepower. The car’s lightweight design, using recycled chop carbon fiber, keeps it at a nimble 3,500 pounds, enabling a blistering 0-60 mph acceleration time of under 2.5 seconds. The three-seater layout, reminiscent of the McLaren F1, adds a unique touch to the concept, showcasing Lotus’s dedication to bold, performance-driven design.
One of the most intriguing features of the Theory 1 is its LOTUSWEAR™ system. This advanced technology uses adaptive robotic textile materials that respond to driving conditions. For instance, the steer-by-wire steering wheel can change shape or inflate to provide haptic feedback for an upcoming turn, improving grip or offering support when needed. The immersive system is enhanced further by the state-of-the-art KEF audio system, delivering a binaural audio experience.
