An exceptionally well-preserved 1987 Cadillac Allanté showing just 1,500 original miles is up for auction at no reserve on Bring a Trailer, offering collectors a rare opportunity to own one of the most distinctive American-Italian collaborations of the 1980s.

Originally purchased at Carter-Mays Cadillac in Salisbury, North Carolina, this Allanté remained with its original owner for 36 years and has accumulated fewer than 100 miles annually since new. Finished in Silver Metallic over a maroon leather interior, the luxury convertible remains in outstanding condition, benefitting from recent mechanical servicing totaling several critical replacements and upgrades.

The 1987 Allanté marked Cadillac’s ambitious push into the luxury roadster market. Designed and bodied by Pininfarina in Italy, each body shell was air-freighted to Detroit and mounted to a Cadillac chassis at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck facility. This particular example features both the removable hardtop and a black soft top, along with classic 16-inch cast aluminum wheels and quad disc brakes with ABS.

Under the hood lies a 4.1-liter V8 paired with a Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transaxle, delivering 170 horsepower to the front wheels. In preparation for sale, the car received a new fuel system, injectors, spark plugs, battery, and tires, as well as a rebuilt alternator and fresh fluids.
Inside, the Allanté is as plush as expected, with maroon leather seats, a Delco Symphony Sound system, digital gauges, and automatic climate control. A window sticker confirms a 1987 MSRP of $54,700—equivalent to over $140,000 today when adjusted for inflation.

The car is offered with the original North Carolina title, a clean Carfax report, service records, manuals, and its factory window sticker. It is currently listed on Bring a Trailer from an Arizona-based selling dealer.
