One of Ferrari’s most revered modern road cars is preparing to cross the auction block as a low-mileage 599 GTO heads to Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale sale, scheduled for January 17 through 25. With just 531 miles recorded, the example stands out even among an already exclusive model run.
The 599 GTO represents Ferrari’s third use of the Gran Turismo Omologato designation, a name first introduced in 1962 with the 250 GTO and later revived in the mid-1980s. When the 599 GTO debuted in 2010, it carried the weight of that legacy while serving as the most extreme road-going evolution of the 599 platform.
Publicly revealed at the Beijing International Motor Show in April 2010, the 599 GTO was derived from the track-focused 599XX experimental program. Ferrari positioned the model as its fastest production road car at the time, emphasizing its balance between near-race-level handling responsiveness and advanced electronic control systems.

Power comes from a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V-12 producing 661 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. That output is managed through an electro-hydraulic six-speed automated transaxle paired with an electronically controlled limited-slip differential. With a dry weight of 3,296 pounds, the car was capable of accelerating from zero to 62 mph in 3.35 seconds and reaching a top speed exceeding 208 mph.
Ferrari further sharpened the 599 GTO’s dynamics with a second-generation magnetorheological suspension system. The setup improved braking stability, cornering precision, and exit speed, contributing to a record-setting lap time at Ferrari’s Fiorano test circuit.
The car offered at Scottsdale was originally delivered in Canada before being imported to the United States in 2015. Finished in Rosso Corsa with a Grigio Silverstone Opaco roof, it features carbon-fiber aerodynamic components including the front spoiler and rear diffuser, along with carbon trim inside the cabin. It rides on 20-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Barrett-Jackson reports the car was last serviced in December 2024.
When new, the 599 GTO carried a reported price of $624,166. Recent auction results suggest significant appreciation potential. A 2010 example sold for $907,200 in 2024, while a 2011 model with just 110 miles achieved $2.04 million during Monterey Car Week. Notably, the Scottsdale-bound Ferrari will be offered without a reserve, adding further anticipation as bidding approaches.
