A supercar many enthusiasts and collectors dream of owning, the Ferrari F40 truly needs no introduction. As the last model whose development was personally overseen by Enzo himself, the F40 occupies a special place in many hearts, which in turn is reflected in the ongoing value. Now, one of these unique Formula One-inspired supercars is available for private purchase.
New Rolls-Royce is an instant collectible.
Offered for private sale through RM Sotheby’s, this F40 looks to be in cherry condition. We’re not saying that just because the factory paint looks excellent but because every photo shows details which are exquisite. But with under 11,500 miles showing on the odometer, there’s good reason why this supercar looks so great.
Keep in mind Ferrari only build 213 US-spec F40s, so this is in an elite, small group. Each one was designed to be road legal but also to hit the track and push the envelope. With a twin-turbo V8 and lightweight construction, this supercar can carve through turns and hit over 200 mph on straightaways with glee.
The current owner, who lives in Texas, has had this Ferrari F40 for almost 20 years, with the rest of the supercar’s history documented. Currently, it’s in need of some servicing after sitting in static storage for most of the last several years. But it sounds like the mechanicals are in good order, meaning once a proper technician gets everything read this supercar is ready to rip through a few hot laps.
As one might imagine, any F40 isn’t going to come cheap, especially one in as good of condition as this. That assumption is absolutely correct since the asking price for this Ferrari is $2,600,000. For those who can swing that amount, this would make a fine addition to any garage, at least in our opinion.
