A rare 1967 Jaguar Mark X 4.2, once owned by the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna, is set to go under the hammer at H&H Classics’ auction on October 9. The vehicle, which Madonna reportedly purchased in 2021 for her son, Rocco Ritchie, has since made multiple appearances in public, with both Rocco and Madonna seen cruising around London in this classic British luxury car. The iconic Jaguar will be offered without reserve, giving fans of both the legendary pop star and classic cars a unique opportunity to own this stunning piece of motoring history.

Motor car specialist at H&H Classics, Lucas Gomersall, expressed his excitement about the auction, saying, “It’s incredible to be offering a Jaguar with such close connections to Madonna, and I’m sure both her fans and classic car enthusiasts will be captivated by this Mark X.” He also pointed out that beyond its celebrity association, this specific Jaguar Mark X is a rare 4.2-liter model, a version only in production for two years, making it highly sought-after by collectors.

The car’s history isn’t the only reason it’s likely to attract attention. This Jaguar Mark X 4.2 is a visually stunning example of British craftsmanship. The vehicle was recently resprayed in an opalescent maroon, with bodywork that stays true to the model’s original curvaceous design. Although the car shows some signs of age, with pitting on the chrome trim and a small scrape on the passenger door, it retains its vintage charm. Inside, the back seats remain in excellent condition, while the front cream leather seats show signs of wear, with some cracking visible in the cushions—likely a testament to its history of use.

Beyond its looks, the Mark X was built for luxury. Originally designed to transport heads of state, diplomats, and film stars, this model was a statement of sophistication. It features a walnut dashboard and door trim, which could benefit from light refurbishment to restore its original sheen. A small Pioneer touchscreen infotainment system has been added discreetly beneath the dash, offering a modern touch to this otherwise stock classic.

Introduced in the same year as the iconic Jaguar E-Type, the Jaguar Mark X didn’t achieve the same level of success. However, its era of production remains one of Jaguar’s most celebrated. The 4.2-liter version, produced for just two years before being replaced by the 420G, is a particular highlight in the Mark X’s lineage. Of the 5,137 Jaguar Mark X 4.2 models built, this one stands out, not only for its rarity but also for its famous ownership.

With recent Jaguar Mark X models selling for between $13,000 and $33,000, this particular example, with its celebrity pedigree, could attract bids on the higher end of that range. Whether purchased by a classic car collector or a die-hard Madonna fan, this Jaguar Mark X 4.2 is expected to make waves at auction.
