An exceptionally rare Marlboro White McLaren F1, one of only two finished in this distinctive shade, has quietly changed hands in a private sale, reigniting attention around the legendary supercar model and its astronomical value among collectors.

Produced in limited numbers between 1992 and 1998, the McLaren F1 is widely regarded as one of the greatest supercars ever built, with just 106 examples made. Of those, only 62 were road-going versions, making each an exceptionally valuable collectible. However, chassis number 53, a 1995 model recently sold privately, stands out even within this exclusive group due to its Marlboro White finish—one of just two cars painted in that color from the factory.

Originally delivered new to prominent Japanese motorsport figure Kazumichi Goh, this pristine example boasts an impressively low mileage of just 802 miles. Inside, it features a striking blue interior that combines leather and Alcantara upholstery, enhancing its desirability and collectibility.

In addition to its unique appearance and low mileage, the car comes complete with thorough documentation, original factory-issued tools, owner’s manuals, and custom-made fitted luggage. These factors combined establish this McLaren F1 as among the most original and well-preserved examples ever offered.

Though financial details of the private sale were not disclosed publicly, market analysts estimate its value to exceed $20 million, given recent sales trends for rare and limited-edition McLaren F1s.

Previous auctions of standard F1 models have set records, reinforcing the F1’s status as an investment-grade automobile. Chassis 53’s rarity—paired with its impeccable condition and documented provenance—would likely have commanded a premium, making this private sale notable in the global collector car market.

The sale underscores the ongoing strength and exclusivity of McLaren F1s, considered the pinnacle of automotive engineering and a timeless icon of automotive design.
