Nothing says “start the week off right” like a multi-vehicle mishap involving a six-figure supercar, a surprise police car, and a lot of confused bystanders.
Social media lit up Monday morning as a photo emerged showing a McLaren in the aftermath of what looks suspiciously like a fender-bending oopsie in the Brisbane suburb of Hendra. The sleek, low-slung exotic is parked very close to the rear end of another vehicle, whose bumper now shares a striking resemblance to a crushed Tim Tam.
As if a McLaren being involved in your average morning commute wasn’t bizarre enough, the scene also featured a crashed police car casually chilling on the other side of the intersection. Because, you know, why limit the chaos to just two cars when three’s a crowd?
While official reports have yet to confirm the sequence of events, the photographic evidence suggests the McLaren may have met the rear of the other car with a bit more enthusiasm than intended. Meanwhile, the police car appears to have had its own independent run-in with reality—and possibly a curb.
Eyewitnesses report a symphony of brake squeals, followed by a chorus of “oof” as motorists realized their Monday was about to get a lot more paperwork-heavy.
Commenters online were quick to weigh in, with one user noting, “Finally, a McLaren gets close enough to another car to actually use its turn signal.” Another added, “That police car was just trying to keep up with the drama.”
Fortunately, no injuries were reported—aside from a few egos and the dignity of a $400,000 car now featured in everyone’s group chat.
