In an exclusive world premiere at the Formula 1™ Monaco Grand Prix, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the radical Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, the first model in the highly anticipated Mythos series. This bold design concept marks a significant departure from conventional vehicles, offering a completely open, two-seater performance car without a roof or windshield, embodying the essence of racing tradition.

The unveiling took place on a floating pontoon in Monaco’s harbor, where the PureSpeed impressed onlookers, including Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Michael Schiebe, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, emphasized the concept’s unique approach to performance and driving pleasure. “The Concept Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed offers a glimpse of what is probably the most direct way to experience performance and driving pleasure,” Schiebe said.

The PureSpeed’s design pays homage to legendary racing cars, incorporating innovative materials and cutting-edge technology. Limited to just 250 units, this exclusive model will only be available to the most dedicated Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and collectors.

One of the most striking features of the PureSpeed is the HALO system, replacing the conventional A-pillar. Derived directly from Formula 1™, the HALO system is a protective bracket designed to safeguard the occupants’ heads in the event of an accident. This safety feature is complemented by specially designed aerodynamically optimized helmets.

Design elements of the PureSpeed are inspired by the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar, featuring an extremely low silhouette and a combination of visible carbon fiber parts with sensual, rounded shapes. The vehicle sports a long bonnet, a pronounced “shark nose,” and a wide lower air intake with AMG lettering, enhancing its aggressive look. The eye-catching paintwork transitions from Le Mans red to graphite grey, paying tribute to the victorious Mercedes car at the 1924 Targa Florio race.

The PureSpeed’s interior is equally impressive, with a minimalist yet luxurious design. High-quality materials, unique color schemes, and a custom clock by IWC Schaffhausen on the dashboard underscore the vehicle’s exclusivity.

With its advanced performance capabilities and innovative design, the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed is set to become a pinnacle of exclusivity in the automotive world. The small series model is expected to debut next year, providing a Formula 1™-like experience for two lucky passengers.
