The Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD) has taken a page out of Dubai Police’s playbook by adding a high-end luxury vehicle to its fleet—the Rolls-Royce Ghost. This move, part of a partnership with Braman Motorcars, signifies a significant upgrade in the department’s public engagement and recruitment efforts.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost, valued at over $350,000, has been custom-fitted with all the necessary police modifications, including lights and specialized functions. It features a striking matte black and white interceptor livery, adorned with the Miami Beach PD and Braman Miami logos, ensuring it stands out on South Beach.

The vehicle was introduced through a promotional video and motorcade, highlighting its role in the MBPD’s recruitment team. While primarily used for promotional purposes rather than patrolling, the presence of such a luxurious vehicle is a nod to the growing trend of police departments utilizing high-performance and high-profile cars to boost their image and appeal.

Underneath its luxurious exterior, the Ghost is equipped with a 6.75-liter turbocharged V12 engine, producing over 563 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. This powerhouse on wheels aligns with the department’s message that the days of out-running the police are long gone.

While the Rolls-Royce Ghost will likely not be used in high-speed pursuits, its addition to the fleet is a clear indication of the evolving dynamics of law enforcement vehicles. The Miami Beach PD’s new acquisition underscores an innovative approach to law enforcement presence and community engagement, offering a glimpse into the future of police fleets.
