The notorious HondaJet previously owned by Michael Avenatti, the convicted attorney known for his legal battle with ex-client Stormy Daniels, is set to re-enter the market. This light jet, registered as N227WP, was seized by federal agents in 2019 and subsequently sold at a government auction to a partnership last year. However, after one partner withdrew and the remaining owners found the jet underused for their needs, the decision was made to sell.
San Francisco-based Global Elite Aviation, a brokerage that specializes in HondaJets, is handling the sale. According to Michelle Hoover, founder and president of Global Elite, the aircraft has been meticulously maintained during its time in storage at Chino Airport’s (KCNO) Threshold Aviation, with engines run monthly to ensure mechanical integrity.
Currently, N227WP is being prepped for a cross-country ferry flight to the Honda Aircraft plant at Piedmont Triad International Airport (KGSP) in Greensboro, North Carolina. There, it will undergo any necessary maintenance to ensure it is fully airworthy after sitting idle. Notably, the aircraft required the replacement of three tires before it could undertake this journey.
With less than 400 total flight hours and no flights since 2019, N227WP presents a unique opportunity for aviation enthusiasts or private buyers seeking a relatively unused jet. The aircraft is expected to be ready for purchase by mid-May, marking a new chapter for this jet that has a storied past linked to one of the more sensational legal dramas in recent years.
