A highly customized 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Targa, equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle and numerous performance and aesthetic upgrades, has surfaced for sale in California. Acquired by the seller in May 2022 via Bring a Trailer, this Porsche has been meticulously modified to deliver an enhanced driving experience while preserving its iconic air-cooled legacy.
One of the most significant upgrades is the rebuilt 3.6-liter flat-six engine, which now features a Fabspeed DME chip, a Cup-style airbox, and a dual-outlet Fabspeed exhaust system. The modifications, carried out by European Motorsports in California, increase power output and refine the engine’s sound. The car also received a new clutch and flywheel, a short-shift kit, and several other performance enhancements, including H&R coilovers, Tarett Engineering sway bars, and RSR-style tie rods, ensuring a more agile and responsive driving experience.
Aesthetically, this Targa is finished in Midnight Blue Metallic, paired with a custom brown leather interior. The body was upgraded with Euro Turbo-style bumpers and a refurbished Targa roof featuring Mercedes-Benz navy blue upholstery. The interior has been reimagined with brown leather seats featuring sport-style bolsters and black metal ventilation grommets. A MOMO Prototipo steering wheel with “baseball stitching” and custom leather door pulls add to the bespoke feel. The car’s audio system has been modernized with a Porsche Classic Communication receiver, Apple CarPlay, Focal speakers, and a hidden JL Audio subwoofer and amplifiers.
The car rides on 18” BBS wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, with blue Brembo brakes providing stopping power. Accompanying the sale are service records, build photos, a car cover, and the original Cup wheels.
