Florida-based millionaire Kris Singh has posted plans to coat a $2.5 million Pagani Utopia in a unique paint derived from crushed moon rocks. This announcement comes after a failed attempt to create a similar bespoke finish on a custom Aston Martin Valkyrie.
Singh, a noted car collector, had initially collaborated with Aston Martin to develop a “Karosserie Lunar Red” paint for his Valkyrie, incorporating actual moon dust. Despite the hype surrounding this ambitious project, it was ultimately shelved due to a series of setbacks at Aston Martin, including changes in ownership and the end of their partnership with Red Bull Racing. Singh expressed his disappointment publicly, citing the company’s inability to manage the valuable lunar material as a significant factor in the project’s cancellation.
Turning a new leaf, Singh has now partnered with Italian supercar maker Pagani, expressing his trust in the brand’s innovative spirit under the leadership of Horacio Pagani. The paint, which is to be developed by Pennsylvania-based Karosserie, is described as an “epic new color never seen before.” While specific details about the vehicle remain under wraps, Singh hinted that the bespoke Utopia will be ready “sometime in the next 12 cycles of the moon,” suggesting a debut within the next year.
The Pagani Utopia, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and performance, will serve as a fitting canvas for this groundbreaking paint. The application of moon rock in automotive paint is unprecedented and highlights the increasing intersection of high technology and luxury in the supercar industry.
Singh, whose collection includes some of the world’s most exclusive vehicles, views this project as a testament to Pagani’s daring approach to car making and a personal tribute to his passion for unique hypercars. This venture not only marks a significant milestone for Singh but also sets a new standard in the customization of luxury automobiles.
