Next-Generation Lamborghini Urus Confirmed for Post-2026 Debut

Lamborghini has officially announced plans for the next-generation Urus, with the highly anticipated luxury SUV slated for a global launch after 2026. As one of the brand’s best-selling models, the Urus has redefined the super SUV segment, and its successor aims to push the boundaries further.

According to Federico Foschini, Lamborghini’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, the second-gen Urus will continue leveraging the advanced technologies of the VW Group. Sharing its platform with models like the Porsche Cayenne and Audi RSQ8, the new Urus will ensure Lamborghini maintains its competitive edge in performance, luxury, and cutting-edge innovation.

“We would be stupid not to keep using something that’s at the top of its technology,” Foschini remarked. “For us, it’s an advantage until the moment that we are not able to make a car that’s at the top of its game.”

The current Urus, powered by a V8 plug-in hybrid, has already demonstrated Lamborghini’s ability to marry performance with hybrid technology. The next generation is expected to build on this foundation, utilizing an updated version of the V8 hybrid powertrain. This move aligns the Urus with Lamborghini’s electrification strategy, following in the footsteps of the Revuelto and Temerario hybrid supercars.

While exact details of the new Urus remain under wraps, it will likely feature the latest advancements in platform architecture, drivetrain efficiency, and in-car technology. The SUV’s evolution is also expected to include enhancements in weight distribution and aerodynamics to deliver even sharper performance.

As Lamborghini continues its hybrid transition, the next-gen Urus will stand as a key player in the brand’s lineup, catering to a growing market for electrified high-performance luxury SUVs. Fans and collectors alike eagerly await more details as Lamborghini prepares to redefine the segment once again.
