Inspired by Porsche’s victory in the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally with the 953, the 911 Dakar debuted at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show. Building on the Carrera 4 GTS, it incorporates a suite of off-road-focused enhancements, including increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and rally-specific drive modes.
This model is finished in white with striking “Rallye 1978” decals and features a carbon-fiber hood and rear spoiler, stainless-steel skid plates, lightweight glass, and red tow hooks. Additional elements, such as black cladding, LED-Matrix headlights, and Exclusive Design tailpipes, enhance its rugged yet sophisticated aesthetic. A twin-turbocharged 3.0L flat-six engine delivers 473 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transaxle and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. The car’s adaptive suspension includes a hydraulic lift system that provides up to 7.5 inches of clearance, sustainable at speeds up to 105 mph. The enhanced cooling system from the Turbo and dynamic engine mounts from the GT3 ensure optimal performance under extreme conditions.
Inside, the cabin offers black leather upholstery with Race-Tex inserts, Guards Red seatbelts, and Shade Green stitching. Advanced amenities include 18-way adaptive Sport Plus seats, a Bose sound system, and Porsche Communication Management with navigation. A multifunction steering wheel and central 8k-rpm tachometer complete the driver-focused design.
