In a landmark delivery, O’Gara Coach and Bugatti Beverly Hills have unveiled one of just 99 Bugatti W16 Mistrals, marking the official close of a two-decade chapter in high-performance automotive history. The ultra-exclusive open-top hypercar represents one of the final vehicles to be powered by Bugatti’s legendary quad-turbocharged W16 engine.
Since debuting in the early 2000s, Bugatti’s 8.0-liter W16 has become synonymous with elite performance, powering vehicles that shattered speed records and redefined automotive engineering. From the Veyron to the Chiron, the W16 became a symbol of hypercar dominance. Now, as the marque prepares for its hybrid-powered future, the Mistral and the track-focused Bolide serve as final tributes to this historic engine.
The newly delivered Mistral, hand-assembled at Bugatti’s Molsheim Atelier in France, arrived in Southern California finished in a bespoke “Italian Red” exterior. The bold color theme continues inside, with matching red leather upholstery, underscoring Bugatti’s attention to customization and luxury.
The Mistral’s performance lives up to its lineage. With over 1,500 horsepower, the open-top hypercar is expected to be one of the fastest roadsters ever built. Paired with timeless design and limited production, the Mistral is already being recognized as a future collectible.
Bugatti’s next act will feature a naturally aspirated V16 engine developed in partnership with Cosworth, paired with a hybrid system to produce 1,800 horsepower—ushering in a new era of performance.
For now, though, the W16 Mistral stands as a stunning farewell to one of the most celebrated engines in automotive history. As O’Gara Coach proudly delivers this latest masterpiece, it does so with a nod to the past and an eye on the next chapter of Bugatti innovation.
