A rare and meticulously upgraded 2006 RUF Rt12 S, one of the most sought-after Porsche-based supercars of its era, is now up for auction on PCarMarket.
Originally built by RUF as a standard Rt12 and delivered to its first owner in Miami, this car began its life with a rare rear-wheel-drive configuration—a notable departure from the more common all-wheel-drive models. Shortly after, it gained notoriety after being tested by EVO Magazine at the Nürburgring, setting the stage for its transformation into a higher-performance variant.
In 2009, the car returned to RUF’s Pfaffenhausen, Germany headquarters, where it underwent a full Rt12 S conversion, including performance upgrades and a complete color change from GT Silver Metallic to matte black—a €49,000 transformation. By 2011, it emerged with an uprated 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger engine producing a jaw-dropping 685 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. The build features Mahle pistons, turbos, custom cams, a cast alloy intake, and a bespoke six-speed RUF manual transmission with a tall sixth gear and limited-slip differential.
Mechanically reconditioned in 2018–2019 by a RUF-trained technician using genuine parts, it received a full top-end engine rebuild, new clutch, rebuilt brake calipers, and supporting components.
The body, now protected by full clear paint protection film, features custom RUF bodywork, including carbon fiber quarter panels, a rear wing, a front spoiler with enlarged radiators, and CTR3-style mirrors. Inside, the car is equally bespoke with carbon-backed Pepita cloth RUF sport seats, Cocoa Brown leather, and signature RUF trim throughout. It even retains its original Valentine One radar system, Bose audio, and Porsche Communication Management.
With just 31,363 miles, original build documents, and invoices included, this Rt12 S offers collectors an unmatched blend of performance pedigree, rarity, and factory provenance.
