A one-of-a-kind 1971 Plymouth ’Cuda 440-6, widely considered one of the rarest and most sought-after American muscle cars, will hit the auction block as part of Worldwide Auctioneers’ upcoming sale. With its matching-numbers drivetrain and a unique combination of factory options and colors, this ’Cuda stands out even among Mopar royalty.

Bearing VIN BS23V1B297396, this factory EV2 Tor-Red over white interior ’Cuda is documented as the only example built in this configuration—complete with the formidable 440-cubic-inch Six-Pack V8 and a four-speed manual transmission. Fewer than 240 ’Cuda hardtops received the 440-6 engine for 1971, and only 50 were paired with the four-speed, making this example one of the most elite survivors.

The vehicle was sold new in Virginia and ordered with a performance-first mindset. Key options include the A33 Track Pak, 3.54 Sure-Grip rear axle, N85 tachometer, A62 Rallye instrument cluster, woodgrain console, dual exhaust tips, and an AM Music Master radio. While the optional N96 Shaker Hood was added later during a professional restoration, the car maintains its original drivetrain and rare factory V6X black stripe package—1 of just 7 so equipped.
Noted Mopar authorities Galen Govier, Nick Larsson (“Mr. Mopar”), and Dave Wise have each validated the authenticity of this ’Cuda through their respective reports, including a comprehensive March 2025 Elite Validation from Wise that confirms its numbers-matching status and rare factory specifications.

With just 16 Tor-Red 440-6 cars built for 1971 and this one holding one-of-one status in its configuration, the offering represents a blue-chip opportunity for collectors. It joins a curated list of high-end consignments expected to command strong interest from bidders around the globe.

This vehicle is selling at Worldwide Auctioneers Enthusiast Auction on April 25th-26th in Auburn, Indiana. Over 250 classic and collector cars will be offered with 150 being offered at NO RESERVE.
