Pagani Marks Founder’s 70th Birthday With Huayra 70 Roadster Debut

Pagani has marked founder Horacio Pagani’s 70th birthday by unveiling a new special-edition hypercar, the Huayra 70 Roadster, celebrating the milestone with an ultra-limited production run and bespoke design details. The first of just three planned examples was recently revealed during an event held at the company’s factory.

The debut car has been commissioned by the Barchetta Collection and is slated for delivery to Cincinnati, Ohio. This initial example is a one-off specification known as the Huayra 70 Trionfo, setting it apart even within the already limited Huayra 70 Roadster series.

The Huayra 70 Trionfo features a green exposed carbon fiber exterior accented with orange highlights. Its bodywork draws visual inspiration from the Pagani Imola Roadster, incorporating a more aggressive front splitter and a prominent rear wing. A Zonda Cinque-style roof intake scoop is fitted, complete with a shark fin extension that adds both visual drama and a nod to Pagani’s past designs.

Additional aerodynamic elements include extractor vents positioned on top of both the front and rear fenders, as well as a large rear diffuser designed to complement the car’s overall aerodynamic package. Together, these features give the Huayra 70 Trionfo a more purposeful and track-focused appearance compared with standard Huayra Roadster variants.

Power comes from a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine producing 834 horsepower. In an era where most hypercars rely exclusively on automated gearboxes, Pagani has paired the engine with a seven-speed manual transmission, underscoring the brand’s emphasis on driver involvement and mechanical connection.

With only three Huayra 70 Roadsters planned, the model stands as a rare tribute to Horacio Pagani’s legacy and vision. The unveiling of the first example signals not just a celebration of a birthday milestone, but a continuation of Pagani’s approach to limited production, detailed craftsmanship, and distinctive engineering choices that prioritize emotion as much as performance.
