Paid of Corvettes Highlights Performance and Preservation at Mecum Kissimmee 2026

A group of notable Chevrolet Corvettes is scheduled to cross the block at the Mecum Kissimmee 2026 auction, offering bidders a rare look at both ends of the collector spectrum. From a heavily modified split-window coupe to an unrestored big-block convertible, the lineup underscores the breadth of interest within the Corvette market.

Leading the group is a custom-built 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe, set to cross the block as Lot S281 on Saturday, January 17. The car departs significantly from factory specification, blending classic design with modern performance hardware. Power comes from a 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 paired with a Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. The build centers on a modified Roadster Shop chassis, supported by a hand-fabricated engine bay and custom-mounted hood.

The exterior features a three-stage House of Kolor Candy Burgundy finish, complemented by hand-built chrome bumpers fitted precisely to the body. A staggered wheel setup with 18-inch fronts and 20-inch rears enhances the car’s aggressive stance. Inside, the tan interior was created using custom 3D-printed components by Bux Customs. Mecum estimates the car will sell between $325,000 and $350,000.

Also crossing the block on Saturday is a sharply contrasting example of Corvette history: an unrestored 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible offered as Lot S279. Powered by a matching-numbers L71 427-cubic-inch V-8 rated at 435 horsepower, the car retains its original 4-speed manual transmission and 3.70 Positraction rear end. The Corvette shows just 13,982 original miles and remained with its original owner until late 2024.

Finished in Goodwood Green with a Saddle leather interior, the convertible remains largely untouched, including its original paint and interior materials. It is equipped with special heavy-duty brakes, an option fitted to only 267 Corvettes in 1967, along with off-road exhaust and a black vinyl auxiliary hardtop. The car earned Bloomington Gold Survivor and Benchmark certifications in 2016 and was included in the Bloomington Gold Special Collection the following year. Its pre-sale estimate ranges from $160,000 to $180,000.

Together, these Corvettes reflect two distinct philosophies within the collector world: one focused on modern reinterpretation and craftsmanship, the other on careful preservation of factory originality. As Mecum Kissimmee 2026 approaches, the pair is expected to draw strong interest from bidders with very different visions of Corvette excellence.

This amazing collection is being sold at Mecum’s largest sale of the year in Kissimmee, Florida. Visit there to see other collections and vehicles on offer. Better yet, consign your car or collection today!
