Porsche Reveals Limited-Run 911 GT3 Honoring Ferdinand Alexander Porsche

Porsche has unveiled a new limited-edition 911 GT3 created to honor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the influential designer credited with shaping the original 911 and the grandson of the company’s founder. The model, revealed Thursday, is officially called the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche and serves as both a performance car and a tribute to one of the brand’s most important creative figures.

Production of the special edition will be capped at 90 examples, a number chosen to mark what would have been Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s 90th birthday. All vehicles will be assembled through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch Manufaktur, the company’s division focused on highly customized and bespoke vehicles. One of the 90 cars has already been reserved for Mark Porsche, F.A. Porsche’s son.

The exterior is finished in a custom color known as F.A. Green, inspired by the Oak Green shade worn by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s personal 911. Satin Black wheels contrast with the bodywork, while vintage Porsche crests appear at the center of the lock hubs, reinforcing the historical theme.

Inside, the cabin continues the personal references. A grid-weave fabric recalls the designer’s favored sports coat, while a clock modeled after the Chronograph 1 sits atop the instrument cluster. That timepiece itself was originally created for Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. The manual shift lever features a walnut handle, and a plaque bearing his signature and a silhouette of the first 911 underscores the car’s connection to Porsche history.

Mechanically, the model is based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package. Power comes from a 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine producing 502 horsepower, matching other Touring-equipped GT3s. While the standard Touring Package GT3 starts at $230,500, the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche carries a significantly higher price of $387,000.

Production is scheduled to begin later next year, following an additional customization period for buyers. The car reflects Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s belief that purposeful design naturally leads to lasting form, a philosophy long embodied by the 911 itself.
