The vehicle, bearing chassis number 02221153A, represents a faithful tribute to one of the most iconic race cars in motorsport history. Originally engineered by Rudolf Uhlenhaut, the 300 SLR is best known for its domination in the 1955 World Sportscar Championship, driven by legends such as Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio.

While not an original factory example—of which only nine were ever built—this re-creation captures the essence of the 300 SLR’s groundbreaking design. From its swooping bodywork and exposed side exhaust to its hand-formed aluminum panels and lightweight tubular spaceframe chassis, the car is a stunning visual and mechanical homage to Mercedes-Benz’s golden racing era.

The 300 SLR re-creation is expected to draw significant attention from collectors and racing enthusiasts alike. Vehicles of this quality, built to the exacting standards of the original with period-correct details, are becoming increasingly rare in the market. Often commissioned by private enthusiasts or niche restoration outfits, these builds can take years to complete and command premium auction results.
